My nephew Carter's life and death truly opened my eyes to the power of the human body and spirit and its desire to thrive. Carter's life was not defined by man by man as he was given so many limitations when he first was left brain damaged and his parents were left with so little hope. When they found hope in holistic therapies and a model of healing that supported the rich interconnectedness of the human body I was able to witness what seemed to be to be miraculous. Carter's life inspired me to take my passion for helping others and for health and wellness and go back to school for applied functional medicine and, as a coach, help others find that hope that they, too, can heal and live their best life. I am forever grateful for the many ways that Carter touched my heart and inspired me to not live with limitations but rather step out in faith.
